• Step 1: First use the car ramps to lift your car, and start the engine for 10-15 minutes to warm the oil.
• Step 2: Now loosen up the oil filler cap, located above the engine.
• Step 3: Then use the oil filter wrench to loosen up the oil filter cap.
• Step 4: Go under your vehicle with an oil drain pan, 17mm wrench socket, and flathead screwdriver, and locate the oil drain plug.
• Step 5: The drain plug may be covered, so use the flathead to rotate the plastic piece 180 degrees, and you can uncover the drain plug.
• Step 6: Using the 17mm wrench unplug the drain plug & let the oil drain into the drain pan.
• Step 7: After the oil is drained remove the oil filter from its housing & replace the oil filter with a new one. Also remove two old O-rings, with the new O-rings from the oil filter kit.
• Step 8: Also you’ll get a new washer with the kit, which you need to install in the oil drain plug by replacing the older one.
• Step 9: Now close the drain plug & oil filter. And add the recommended 5W-30 synthetic oil through a funnel in the oil filler.
• Step 10: Close the oil filler cap & start your BMW for about 5-10 minutes and check if the engine oil warning is gone and oil capacity is reached.
• Step 11: After keeping your BMW on for 5 minutes check for any oil leakage.
